This rose was here when I moved in, and it took me the longest time to identify it as Dr. Huey, the boring hybrid often used as rootstock. I finally cut this rose back this year to replace it with New Dawn. Dr. Huey is pretty in bloom, but drove me insane with its susceptibility to black spot. I don't mind spraying now and then, but I won't get on a ladder to do it anymore.
