This is my late summer border -- lilies, roses, and echinacea, including one little flower of the new double echinacea 'Razzmatazz,' which I purchased last year from Wayside Gardens. The other echinaceas were divisions from my mother's garden.
The variegated foliage on the left is a weigela and the ferny foliage on the right is actually the buds of an aster that I should have pruned down earlier in the season. It got too rangy and bare-kneed -- next year I will know better!
Photographed August 2003.
